I’ve got to become best friends with myself. My body loves me no matter what destruction I subject it too. I’ve made my body put up with smoke in my lungs, alcohol burning my throat, powder stinging my nose, and invading my veins and through it all it has forgiven me by keeping my heart beating, and itself functioning all to protect me. It heals the bruises, cuts and burns even when I inflicted them. My body loves me even though I’ve fought it consistently, and almost succeeded quite a few times in killing it. It’s time I reciprocate the kindness. I need to be the kind of friend to it, that it is to me. My body and I deserve it. I am worth it.
